For some time, people from the village of Mokgolobotho in the Republic of South Africa travelled to the neighboring Nkowankowa community to attend church. However, the expense of travel meant many people could not attend regularly, attend midweek services, or attend special events. Some were unable to join services at all because of the cost.
In response, brothers and sisters from neighbouring communities helped to plant the Mokgolobotho Church of the Nazarene. In 2019, they were able, with the help of generous donors, to purchase a property in Mokgolobotho with a partially built structure. The land was acquired in the midst of the covid pandemic. The land has been cleared as kept clean, as per the requirements of the traditional leaders in the community.
In 2023, church members were able to add the roof to the building, which is the photo at the top of this project page. There are currently about 30 people meeting at this location on a regular basis, and there is a growth plan in place that the local church is working to implement.
The next priority for this project is to add the roof to the parsonage portion of the structure to enable someone to live on the property.
Will you join with the Nazarenes in Mokgolobotho to make this vision a reality?
