The Chaguala family, originally from Mozambique, are global missionaries serving in the Africa Region. Admirado and Celeste Chaguala, together with their children Noel and Shirley, share a deep passion for ministry, community service, and the development of Christ-centered leadership.
Admirado Chaguala has a rich history of ministry service in Mozambique. His leadership experience includes ten years of local pastoral ministry and the coordination of several initiatives under Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM). He has played a key role in establishing child development centers, implementing WASH and nutrition programs, and supporting district resourcing initiatives. Admirado’s vision is centered on developing Christ-centered leaders, which is reflected in his leadership of the construction of a leadership training center in northern Mozambique.
Currently, Admirado serves as the Field Strategic Coordinator for the Africa Central Field, overseeing 10 districts across 8 countries: Cameroon, Gabon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Central African Republic, São Tomé, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, and Congo. His ministry focus includes providing strategic direction to districts, leadership development, church growth, strategic networking, and strengthening ministry structures across the field.
Admirado holds a Master’s degree in Strategic Human Resource Management from Universidade À Politécnica in Mozambique and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Organizational Leadership.
Celeste Chaguala has served in various ministry roles, including typist for the TEE (Training Extension Education) program, secretary at the Seminário Nazareno em Moçambique (Bible College), and Literature Coordinator for the Lusophone Field (Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa). She has been actively involved in developing resources for extension education and discipleship ministries in Mozambique and has also served as the Regional NDI Coordinator for Africa.
Celeste currently serves as the Regional Personnel Coordinator for the Africa Region, overseeing missionary mobilization, training, deployment, and care. Her passion is to see intentional and holistic discipleship taking place at the grassroots level, with a strong focus on children growing as faithful followers of Christ. One of her key contributions has been leading the translation and adaptation of Sunday School materials into oral methods in major African mother languages, enabling discipleship among those who cannot read or write.
Celeste holds a Master’s degree in Pastoral Ministries from Northwest Nazarene University (USA). Her personal motivation is to continually grow in her knowledge of God, deepen her spiritual walk, and remain obedient to His call throughout her life.
