Since 2016, the Nazarene Library Network has been a quiet but powerful force in strengthening theological education around the world. By equipping libraries at Nazarene higher education institutions with modern tools and professional support, this initiative ensures students and faculty have the resources they need to learn, grow, and lead.
Through a committed team of volunteer librarians, the Network has implemented OPALS (Open-source Automated Library System) at 27 global institutions and counting. These librarians serve as mentors and partners; traveling to campuses, installing the system, digitizing records, and training local staff in foundational library science. What was once a manual, disconnected process has been transformed into an efficient, accessible, and sustainable tool for learning.
This work not only empowers schools with better academic resources, but it also strengthens the capacity of global church leaders, pastors, and educators who are being trained within these institutions. Every record added, every librarian trained, and every catalog connected is a step toward more effective ministry worldwide.
To keep this momentum going, we are seeking annual donations of $12,000. These funds directly support travel costs, technical supplies, and training materials needed for each library setup. Your support means that even the most remote Nazarene college can offer its students a connected, high-quality library system that is fueling their education and, ultimately, their calling.
Please consider giving today to help equip the next generation of leaders through the power of accessible knowledge.
