Education is one of the most impactful ways we as Christians can change a community, nation or our part of the world. God is moved and pleased when we can increase the knowledge of a person, so they grow from being dependent, ethnocentric, and unaware to striving, Global-centric and thriving while being the hands and feet of Jesus in their community and world. ANU’s motto is “What Begins Here Transforms the World.”
Africa Nazarene University will celebrate its 25th Anniversary in 2019 and 2020. ANU has grown from 66 students in July of 1994 to its current enrollment of over 3,000 students attending each of its three trimesters (semesters begin JAN, MAY, and SEP). Majors have risen from just three to over 25 with Law, Communications, Religion, Computer Science, Peace and Conflict, Education, Business, Environment, and Resource Management, to name a few. To be competitive and thrive in the challenging Kenyan university market ANU must advance each of its 54 classrooms into the 21st Century.
Each classroom currently is as high-tech as a whiteboard. A few have projectors, but the unreliability of the power grid in Kenya has torqued and dimmed all the bulbs, and with the bright light from the outside windows, they are unusable. To become competitive ANU’s Board of Trust and Council is desiring the enhance of each room tech to 21st Century standards to promote greater learning and to attract students.
