The Sahel area in West Africa is home to millions of people who have not yet had a chance to hear the life-changing message of the Gospel. The Sahel Sahara Project was the dream of Africa West Field leaders to bring Christ to one of the least reached parts of our continent by sending national church planters in collaboration with the global Church.

Despite the intense challenges of this area, the Lord put in the hearts of men and women the prayer of the early Church in Acts 4:30: “Grant to your servants to continue to speak out your words with all boldness while you stretch out your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are performed through the name of your Holy Servant, Jesus.”

Since this movement began in 2016, the Lord has showed His faithfulness:

• 41 church planters from Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali and Togo have been sent
• 68 churches planted in four nations of West Africa.
• More than one hundred of Nazarenes have been trained in Bible storytelling.
• One church planting training school opened in Bamako in June 2016.
• Several groups of women are being trained and equipped with skills to help them provide for their families, and they get to know Jesus in the process!

The goals for the next five years, 2025-2030, include:

• Supporting 15 church planter families
• Educating 40 church planter children
• Countless people transformed by the message of hope in Jesus.
