Sara e Socorro Fontes servem como missionários em Angola com designação  na Igreja do Nazareno. Socorro Fontes, de nacionalidade cabo-verdiana é pastor há 28 anos e também professor do Seminário Nazareno de Cabo Verde, tendo servido durante 20 anos como secretario distrital. Sara também está ativamente envolvida no  ministério na igreja, servindo  em varias funções de apoio e capacitação sobretudo para mulheres e ministério de compaixão.

Tem o prazer de poder servir a Igreja do Nazareno em Cabo Verde e no Campo Lusófono dando a nossa contribuição para sermos bênçãos no Reino de Deus.

Socorro tem uma rica herança e foi apresentado a Cristo  ainda criança através da influência do pai e do tio Antero Fontes. Ele pertence a terceira geração de cristãos e nazarenos na sua família na ilha do Fogo, onde nasceu e é muito grato à igreja por  sua orientação e direção em sua vida.

Socorro primeiramente foi militar e professor, fez os seus estudos teológicos no Seminário Nazareno de Cabo Verde e Campinas no Brasil. Também concluiu a sua licenciatura universitária em Língua Portuguesa e estudos caboverdianos .

Socorro sentiu o chamado de Deus na sua juventude mas só respondeu  afirmativamente cumprindo o seu chamado  aos 28 anos de idade,  porque o Senhor Deus  fiel continuou a busca-lo até o encontrar e  assim  renovar esse chamado em sua vida.

Sara pertence também a terceira geração dos nazarenos em Achada Santo Antonio, desde cedo viveu num lar cristão e tem uma rica herança nazarena,  e sempre acompanhou o pai no ministério da escola dominical e também aprendeu aos pes de senhoras piedosas na congregação onde cresceu sempre com o desejo de servir a Deus, formou-se como cabelereira no Brasil e estudou teologia no Seminário Nazareno de Cabo Verde.

O casal tem quatro filhos : Shallon de 23 que está concluindo a sua formação universitária no Senegal, Shemara de 19 é estudante na Universidade Nazarena de Olivette nos EUA,  Sócrates de 26 anos trabalha e Sergio de 20 estuda desporto numa universidade em Mindelo.

Visionamos uma Africa abençoada pela presença de Jesus Cristo o nazareno em cada pais deste vasto continente, servindo  e andando em santidade de vida.

Sara and Socorro Fontes serve as missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene in Angola. Socorro Fontes, of Cape Verdean nationality, has been a pastor for 28 years. He was also a professor at the Nazarene Seminary of Cape Verde and served for 20 years as the District Secretary. Sara is also actively involved in church ministry, serving in various roles of support and empowerment, especially for women and compassionate ministries.

It is a pleasure for them to be able to serve the Church of the Nazarene in Cape Verde and on the Africa Lusophone Field, giving their contribution to be a blessing in the Kingdom of God.

Socorro has a rich heritage and was introduced to Christ as a child through the influence of his father and uncle, Antero Fontes. He is a third generation Christian and Nazarene in his family on the island of Fogo where he was born, and he is very grateful to the church for its guidance and direction in his life.

Socorro first served in the military and as a professor, then did his theological studies in the Nazarene Seminary of Cape Verde and Campinas in Brazil. He also completed his university degree in Portuguese Language and Cape Verdean studies.

Socorro felt the call of God in his youth, but didn’t answer and fulfill that call until age 28. The Lord God was faithful to continue to seek him until he was found, and thus renewed the call on his life.

Sara is also a third generation Nazarene from Achada Santo Antonio, and from an early age she lived in a Christian home with a rich Nazarene heritage. She always accompanied her father in his  Sunday School ministries. Learning at the feet of the God-fearing ladies of the congregation, she grew up with the desire to serve God. Sara graduated as a hairdresser in Brazil and then studied theology at the Nazarene Seminary of Cape Verde.

The couple has four children: Shallon, 23, who is completing his university education in Senegal; Shemara, 19, is a student at Olivet Nazarene University in the USA; Socrates, 26, is currently working; and Sergio, 20, studies sports at a University in Mindelo.

Their vision is for Africa to be blessed by the presence of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, in each country of the vast continent, serving and walking in a life of holiness.
