Serving In

The Flame and The Field: Lowenbergs on Mission in Africa

God has called Rev. Michael and Rev. Sarah Lowenberg to serve as sponsored missionaries at Africa Nazarene University in Nairobi, Kenya. Together with their sons, Mayson and Gabe, they are stepping into a new chapter of ministry. Their daughter, Melisa, is currently a student at MidAmerica Nazarene University.

Michael and Sarah are both ordained elders in the Church of the Nazarene and have served in a variety of pastoral roles across the United States and the United Kingdom. Now, they are answering the call to train future pastors and offer spiritual care to students preparing to lead the Church across Africa.

They are calling this new season:

The Flame & The Field: Lowenbergs on Mission in Africa

The Flame represents God’s Spirit - the fire that calls, equips, and sends.

The Field is where He’s sending them - the students, leaders, and lives being formed for His Kingdom.

They have said yes to the flame - and are stepping into the field. But they can’t go alone. The Lowenbergs are building a team of partners who will pray, give, and walk with them on this mission.

You can be part of what God is doing in Kenya - right from where you are.

Will you join them?

Follow their journey, pray for their family, and help fuel the mission.

Let’s carry the flame - into the field.
