Serving In

Kurt and Holly Johnson are missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene in Poznan, Poland. They serve at a coffee house ministry named Sweet Surrender Kawiarnia, which aims to create a space for individuals to meet new people and establish a sense of community. What makes the coffee house ministry in Europe so unique is the outreach to those who would not step foot into a church building. Some have no experience with the church and others have had poor experiences that have left them distant from the church. A coffee house is a place where people can engage the church. Through genuine and intentional relationships, they demonstrate the love of Christ to those they serve. The long-term objective is to use the coffee house ministry to establish a church.

Holly has worked in coffee-related ministries in the past. Kurt has worked in public education and with students who had special needs. They have also served as missionaries through the COTN in the Central Europe Field previously. Both felt called to missions at a young age and both are passionate about sharing the Good News and helping new believers grow in their faith. They have four children, two of which are grown, and one grandbaby. Please keep this family in your prayers as they adjust to the culture and language, and as the two younger boys attend school in Poznan.
