Liliana and Fernando Almeida are global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene currently serving on the Western Mediterranean Field. Their ministry focuses on Theological Education and the coordination of Nazarene Missions International (NMI) and Nazarene Discipleship International (NDI), supporting the development of leaders and mission-minded churches across the field.
Liliana is originally from Cape Verde and Fernando was born in Portugal. They met in Lisbon, Portugal where both their paths converged to study. They began their ministry in the Portugal District from where they were deployed as missionaries in 2004.
The Almeidas served for nine years on the South America Region where they held a variety of administrative and leadership roles. Their work included leadership development at the Nazarene seminary in Quito, strengthening the mission vision of local churches through NMI, and supporting the deployment of missionaries from South American countries.
They also have been serving on the faculty of the European Nazarene College (EuNC) on the Eurasia Region for eleven years, contributing to the equipping of new leaders for the Church of the Nazarene in Europe and parts of Asia with their main focus being on Western Mediterranean Countries.
Liliana holds a BA in Sociology. Fernando holds advanced degrees in theology, church administration, and leadership, including a Doctor of Education.
Liliana and Fernando are members of the Almada Church of the Nazarene in Portugal. They have two children, Nicole and André.
