Ruthie I. Cordova, Peruvian, is serving in Guatemala as Seminary professor, and for the Child Sponsorship Program under Nazarene Compassion Ministries for NorCentral Field.
Ruthie is an ordained minister from the KC district. She served in Kansas Rainbow Boulevard Church as Children’s Pastor. She worked at Nazarene Headquarters as Spanish editor assistance and writer for Adult SS curriculum. She also served in Chicago First Spanish Church of the Nazarene as Associated Pastor in Theological Education.
She has a Doctor in Ministry degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri. Her dissertation was on Faculty Development for Theological Education Programs in Latin America. She also has a MDIV degree, and MRE degree from NTS. Before, she studied for ministry at SENDAS, Costa Rica, and obtained a BS in Theology degree. She also has a BS degree in Public Relations from Peru. She continues studying Wesley studies.
Ruthie attended Chiclayo First Church of the Nazarene. She gave her heart to Jesus when she was six years old and served in different Church ministries since then. God called her to ministry in her youth years.
Most of her missionary years of service have been in Guatemala and Costa Rica as professor of Theology, Bible, Christian Education and Pastoral courses (residential and by extension programs). She has written course modules, church magazine articles and other materials; speaker for church events, radio broadcaster, interpreter for small groups and translator of church materials.
Now, she works with CS program helping to connect children with sponsors and vice versa through correspondence and prayer, and to promote the program in countries of Central America and Spanish speaking churches in US to find sponsors. She teaches NMC courses, and write articles and devotions to help church leaders to be aware of their role as links between local churches, and their communities in times of crises to allow God transform their lives.
Ruthie’s desire is to do God’s will and serve Him with joy.
