“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27
In 2021, the Hendrix family moved to the Republic of Georgia in the Caucus Mountains, an area rich in culture and history but often marked by spiritual and physical needs. They have dedicated their ministry to planting churches and reaching out to the local communities through both spiritual guidance and practical support. Their vision is to see transformed lives in this beautiful yet challenging region of the world, where faith and community often intersect with hardship.
At the heart of the Church of the Nazarene’s mission in Tbilisi is The Open Door Center, a unique community hub where local residents and expats can receive coaching, counseling, and practical assistance in a warm, safe, compassionate environment. This center serves as a bridge between the Church and the community, addressing the pressing emotional, psychological, and relational needs of people living in the Tbilisi. The approach is relational and Christ-centered. Aiming to meet the community where they are, offering practical support and biblical wisdom. Our belief is in the power of Jesus to heal and transform individuals, but also trying to meet people’s immediate needs, which opens the door to deeper conversations about faith.
Please pray for Jeff, Kelsey, Gardner, Gideon, Gabe and George as they live out Christ’s love for his children in this complex and challenging part of the world.
