John has served in many roles in the Church of the Nazarene over a period of 43 years, most recently in the Global NMI Office, as Executive Assistant to the Global NMI Director since 2016. Prior to this, he served as a global missionary with the Church of the Nazarene serving on the Eurasia Region for 38 years, 35 of which he served as Regional Education Coordinator, and Regional Leadership Development Coordinator.
He is currently working as an international education consultant on the Africa and Eurasia Region, endeavoring to help colleges in crisis or in need of institutional development, and in creating new models of learning for those who minister in difficult religious contexts. As an interdisciplinary educator, John has specialized in the disciplines of Old Testament, Practical Theology, Theology of Worship, and Spiritual Formation. John is passionate about professional development for educators, pastors, and leaders, conducting seminars, workshops, and retreats that bring focused insights into “covenantal living and learning” informed by rabbinic principles and cultural exegesis. John is available to districts, fields, and regions across the denomination.
